My name is Cheryl Maxwell

I am a certified 200hr Yoga Teacher from Lindsay, Ontario with a location independent yoga studio.  I believe that there isn’t a one size fits all approach to yoga and meditation, and your practice should be as unique as you are. After many years as a student I decided I wanted to help others with Yoga, the way Yoga has helped me. I took my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and have spent hundreds of hours in others trainings  like Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, Meditation,Yoga for Children to name a few.

I offer Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Meditation, and Gentle Yoga with the use of many props for a safe practice because I believe Yoga is for everyone. Pranayama (Breath work), Asana (Postures) and Meditation are all incorporated together bringing awareness to “the self” in each class. Bringing the breath, the mind and the body together as one, l believe Yoga can literally change our lives on and off the mat. It did mine!

My trainings and studies include; 200 hr YTT, 50 hr Ayurveda Immersions, Yoga Nidra Training, Restorative Yoga Training,  Children’s Yoga Teacher Training through Little Lotus and other children training’s, Chakra Immersion: A Yoga Psychology Training, Essential Oils and Herbs, Yoga Techniques, and Meditation.

I have always had a connection with energy and in 2017 I completed Reiki level 1 and it was in this training that I learned so much about the energy around us and how to

My own struggle’s with anxiety, stress and negative self talk brought me to my mat. After landing there I began to find myself and to love myself. I now live a life that I have always wanted and cultivated for myself and family. My passion is to share that self love with others and help them to find themselves on their mat.

I have a background in Accounting and Fitness and Health Promotion. It was in the Fitness and Health Promotion Program that I learned so much about myself and to accept myself even with all my physical limitations.  I learned with the use of props to safely exercise and practice yoga again.  Now my desire is to share that knowledge and joy with others.

I love both my vegetable and flower gardens and in the summer months you will find me there alot.  My family and friends are my anchors that help me stay grounded.  Ask me anything about my family, friends or natural healing and watch my face light up and listen to the passion just flow.

Yoga is a big part of my life and has helped me over come many obstacles physically as well as mentally. It has brought me to my true spiritual calling where I am learning peace within. My love is to share my passion with others. Yoga fills my cup and I would love to share my passion with all of you.  Looking forward to seeing you on the mat!

Yoga Nidra is practiced in the resting posture of Savasana, and guides you through the five layers of self.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
At the end of practice, you will feel physically and mentally rejuvenated. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
The beauty of yoga Nidra is that it’s easy to learn, and you can’t do it wrong. Even if you fall asleep you will still benefit.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Yoga Nidra is the perfect practice for daily life. All you need to do is get comfortable and listen. ⠀ ⠀⠀
This practice balances your nervous system and helps you release the emotions that you’ve held onto from the past.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Over time, this practice awakens a deeper healing process within you and unravels the mental pathways of thought and emotion that keep us stuck. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Yoga Nidra integrates the right and the left sides of your brain and reconnects all the layers of the self – the physical, energetic, emotional, mental and spiritual.⠀

Restorative Yoga
Restorative yoga is an active form of relaxation where you lengthen and relax different muscles over time, while taking away all physical exertion from the body.  It is also designed to move the spine in all directions and stimulate the organs.  It is an extremely beneficial practice for both your body and mind and gives you the benefits of a traditional yoga practice without the use of tension or strain on the body, making it widely accessible.
